We’ve all experienced déjà vu, being in an unfamiliar situation and feeling like we’ve been there before. But “vu déjà” is looking at a familiar situation as if you’ve been through it before and experiencing it all over again with fresh perspective. This is exactly what fragrance is like to me. Choosing to experience something again and again with a new perspective and tagging it by scent. 

My love for fragrance has been a deep one since childhood. It has always been something I felt had a signature to it. It reminded me of great moments, trips, discoveries, comfort, adventures and many unforgetable memories. I grew up deaf and the world around me was hyper visual and sensational when it came to sensory connecting with moments. I am not very different than anyone who can recall a smell that took them back to a severely memorable moment or helped them espace a sensitive present. Fragrance is a portal from our past and our present. 

I had always felt most attracted to scents that I was told were "for men". It never made sense to me that fragrance had to be gendered and labeled to be only male or female. I remember lying to sales people to get to try the "men's colognes" I lusted after so heavily! On me the scents were heavy, woody and beasty but after awhile the notes would change and turn a bit sweet on me. I loved that my body reacted to the fragrance notes to make my own unique scent regardless of what came out of the bottle.

I am an artist but had artist block after the pandemic began and that was when I started to create scents as gifts for friends who were also feeling lost, lonely or sad by the world of events like me. It was the only way I felt I could give something to connect to friends and feel I was still able to be creative, and perhaps also give a bit of a moment of escape. It basically just grew from there and here we are! I spent a year really putting my heart and care into these scents but also how they are carried. I wanted the bottles to be eco friendly and reusable so, I use labels that can easily be removed leaving a bottle that can be easily taken apart to be cleaned and reused for something else. I also wanted these bottles to be accessible for as many as possible so, I chose these roller ball bottles to be more inclusive and universal. 

I feel very strongly that my scents represent feelings and moods not gender labels or barriers. It is my hope that my scents will create new memories for you. Everyone should feel they can create their own signature scent style anytime they want and however they desire with no labels. This is important to me in creating my scents. I hope you will find new memories in the scents of my offerings.
